About Rachelle McCracken Photography LLC

Hi, I’m Rachelle McCracken and photography is my passion and calling in this life. Looking at the world through a lens has helped challenge me to cultivate a continually thinking, changing, growing, and inquisitive nature in a way I approach each project. The journey and process I take each client through is a very unique and rewarding experience and one that I will never take for granted. Photography is something that invigorates me to get up every morning knowing, each shoot and undertaking will be different and is certainly a blessing and responsibility I take very seriously.

I have always felt photos are the best way to preserve and re-experience past memories. In the same way that certain smells, possessions, and places will trigger a flood of nostalgia, a photo can invoke an intense memory or experience in your life. “A photo is worth a thousand words” and I always aim to make sure all my clients photos tell their story without ever having to utter a single word. This idea of storytelling is at the core of my business and is a personal passion to create timeless memories for my clients during their most personal and intimate times with nothing more than a simple image. I am fairly diverse in the type of photography I have experience shooting but the following subjects tend to be my most popular categories:

· High School Seniors
· Professional Portfolio Headshots
· Family Portraits

· I am also currently working as the WestWing Mountain Living Magazine Head Photographer

I enjoy specializing in natural light photography, which is something we have an abundance of in the Phoenix, Arizona area! I will always stay true to my creativity and overall style. I encourage any and all prospective clients to browse through my portfolio to get a sense of my work and if you feel a connection with my style than it’s likely that we will work well together! I approach each client and photo shoot as if I am spending the day with an old friend. I want to get to know you, your story, quirks, and make sure your true personality shines through in the final result. So we will chat, laugh, squeal, and play, and create great memories together.

So lets make some magic happen. You tell me your story & I’ll tell you mine.

Rest assured that whether we are doing a basic photo shoot or will be spending the day together for a special occasion shoot, I always bring the same level of care and energy to each undertaking I am tasked with.

Frequently Asked Questions

If you are confused by anything on this website, have questions about my style, logistics around your specific shoot, or anything else that comes to mind please don’t hesitate to ask! I am very flexible and open to any ideas you may have! For those looking for a quick answer however here are some of the more common questions I get from clients.

General Questions:

What should I wear?

Textures and solid colors are great.  Keep it simple and classic.  Coordinating colors throughout the family is a fun and beautiful option.  Avoid busy patterns and prints.

What is the best time for a newborn photoshoot?

The perfect age to take newborn photographs is between 4-10 days old. The earlier the better. When you arrive I encourage you to feed your baby before, during and after our photo session. It may take a little while for your baby to fall asleep. Patience is the key. The more relaxed and comfortable you are the more comfortable and relaxed your baby will become.

I have a studio located in a casita attached to the outside of my home.  Please note especially for c-section mom’s my studio is located up a flight of stairs. Please feel free to bring a few newborn outfit changes and props. Also, please feel free to bring beverages and food for yourself as I want you to be as comfortable as possible during our photo session!
